Frequently asked questions
Short answers about accounts, privacy and how the service works.
Can I create an account right now?
No. Registration is currently closed while we focus on supporting our existing members. Plans and pricing are published so you can see what we offer, but we are not accepting new accounts at this time.
Do you read or scan my email?
No. We do not scan message content for advertising, profiling or analytics. Automated filtering is limited to spam and malware detection on inbound mail.
Is my mailbox encrypted?
Mailboxes are encrypted at rest and all connections use TLS. For true end-to-end protection you can use PGP or S-MIME, in which case message bodies are unreadable to us.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on the Operator and Shadow plans. Our custom domain guide covers the required MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records.
Which mail clients are supported?
Any client that speaks IMAP and SMTP: Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Outlook, K-9 / Thunderbird for Android, mutt, aerc and others. See the server settings.
Do you support two-factor authentication?
Yes. TOTP authenticator apps and FIDO2 hardware security keys are supported for webmail login. App-specific passwords are used for IMAP and SMTP clients.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your account is placed in read-only mode for 30 days so you can export your mail, after which the mailbox is permanently deleted.
Can I export my mail?
Yes. Standard IMAP means you can pull everything with any client or a tool such as imapsync, and webmail can export to mbox.
How do I report abuse or a vulnerability?
Abuse reports go to abuse@itpromail.com. Security researchers can reach security@itpromail.com; see our disclosure policy.
